New Era was introduced to the aquarium market several years ago, and has continued to gain power, as an innovative and quality product. New Era produces a top-of-the-line series of flakes and pellet foods for all types of freshwater and marine fishes. The New Era line of food has more vitamins and protein than most other foods on the market, and has better proteins and vitamins. New Era fish food uses a unique low-heat extrusion technique, which avoids the denaturing of proteins and vitamins found in most commercially prepared aquarium fish foods. This results in better palatability for the fish, better nutrient absorption, and less waste.
In addition to the traditional line of pellets and foods, New Era has a new type of food called a "grazer." This food is formulated for each of several types of fish, and is in a unique format. The food comes in a small doughnut shaped ring, which is placed onto a special holder in the aquarium. The food stays in the tank until eaten, and allows the fish to graze naturally throughout the day, rather than a simple binge. This is a more natural way for many types of fish to feed, and provides a constant source of food.
The Grazers are extremely attractive to fish; we've had entire shoals of fish position themselves around the grazer, jostling one another for position, to devour the food. Each grazer will feed an average stocked 30-55 gallon aquarium, and larger tanks should use more than one at a time. Please note that the grazer is a pretty large amount of food, and should not be used on smaller tanks. (Note that grazers are intended as a daily food source, and should not be used as a vacation or weekend feeder). Each can of grazers contains several suction cup holders, and we also sell spare holders.
