The various catfish of the genus Aspidoras are a recent division from the Corydoras, and differ in having a more elongated body, as well as a "supraoccipital fontanel". If you can figure out what that means, and where it is, bonus points to you. Despite the longer body shapes, the name "Aspidoras" does not refer to a snake (Asp), but instead to a shield -- Aspis is the Latin word for shield, and refers to the heavy scales that these, and all Corydoras type catfish have.
